Information We Collect.
We collect the information described below whenever you access or use the Services, which may include personally identifiable information (“personal information”). As used in this Policy, personal information means information that identifies a specific individual or household, such as your name, street address, email address and/or phone number. Personal information does not include information that, standing alone, does not allow a third party to readily identify a specific individual or household. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, you should not register or provide personal information on the Website or through the Services. If we later obtain actual knowledge that a user is under 13 years of age, we will take steps to remove that user’s personal information from our systems. Any reference to “information” in this Policy includes personal information, unless otherwise provided or the context of such reference indicates otherwise.
Accounts, Registration and Customer Support. We collect personal information when you establish an account associated with our Services or register to use our Services (for example, when downloading and installing the Brandcards mobile app), such as providing your name, email address and phone number. We also may collect personal information from you in other ways, such as through our user research and customer support services.
Social Media Links. You may be given the option to link your social media accounts, such as your Facebook,
Instagram and Twitter accounts, so that you can comment on, or take advantage of, the Services. When you comment on the Services using your social media account user names and passwords and, for example, clicking “allow” on your Facebook permission authorization screen, you grant us permission to capture, store, use and display your social media account user ID, your basic social media account profile information, and any other information from your social media account profile that you allow us to access. The authentication of your social media account login credentials is conducted through the relevant social media service provider.
Information You Provide About Other People. If you send someone else a communication from or through the Services, such as sending an invitation to a friend to view a favorite brand, the information you provide (for example, another person’s name and email address) will be used to facilitate the communication and will not be used for any other marketing purpose, unless we obtain consent from that person or we explicitly disclose otherwise. If that person visits our Website or becomes a user of our Services, her or his information will be treated in the same manner as for all other Website visitors and users of the Services. Please be aware that, when you send a message from or through our Services, your email address may be included in the communication sent to your recipient.
Pixel Tags. We may use “pixel tags” (sometimes called “Internet tags”, “web beacons” or “clear GIFS”), which are tiny graphic images, on our Services. Pixel tags help us analyze our customers’ online behavior and measure the effectiveness of our Services and our advertising. We work with service providers that help us track, collect, and analyze this information. Pixel tags on our Services may be used to collect information about your visit, including the pages you view, the features you use, the links you click, and other actions you take in connection with the Services. This information may include your computer’s and/or mobile device’s Internet protocol (IP) address, your browser type, your operating system, date and time information, and other technical informationabout your computer and/or mobile device. We may also track certain information about the identity of the websites you visit before or after accessing our Website or otherwise using our Services.
Email and Electronic Newsletters. By logging into your account with us or downloading and installing any of our Services (for example, the Brandcards mobile app), you thereby consent to receiving email messages from us and/or from Merchants regarding our Services. You may be able to sign up to receive electronic newsletters from us. To sign up we may ask for information such as your name, email address, gender, age, and email preferences. If you do not want to receive electronic newsletters from us, you may click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any electronic newsletter communication sent by us. Please allow up to ten business days from when the request is received by us to implement your unsubscribe request.
Surveys, Sweepstakes and Promotions.
You may be permitted to participate in surveys, sweepstakes and promotions relating to the Services (individually and collectively, “promotion(s)”). By participating in a promotion, you agree to abide by the official rules that govern the promotion. We may request information such as your name, age, email address, mailing address, telephone number, and interests or product preferences. This information may used to enter you into our promotions. We may use this information to communicate with you about our products, services and promotions. If you choose to enter a promotion, your personal information may be disclosed to third parties or the public in connection with the administration of the promotion and as permitted by the promotion’s official rules or as required by law.
When you install and/or use the Services (for example, the Brandcards mobile app), Brandcards may in its sole discretion elect to promote its Services by providing awards and/or incentives to encourage your use of the Services and reward your loyalty to Brandcards. These awards and incentives may be redeemable in the form of cash or other consideration payable through payment services, such as PayPal and Venmo, or fulfilled through Merchants or other parties selected by Brandcards. Unless otherwise provided by the promotion’s official rules or as required by law, each such award and incentive shall expire ninety (90) days after being awarded to you by or on behalf of Brandcards. After expiration, those awards and incentives shall no longer be redeemable for cash or other forms of consideration.
Use of the Information We Collect.
We may share your information, including your personal information, with Merchants: to facilitate the sale and fulfillment of products and/or services you elect to purchase through the Services; to provide a personalized
content and shopping experience to you; for integration with information the Merchants may have in order to identify, profile and target users of our Services who are interested in Merchants’ brands, products and/or services; for use in co-marketing arrangements and programs we may have with Merchants; and for the compilation and development of data analytics for use in improving the Services and/or the products and services offered by Merchants. We also may share your information with other parties with which we have co- marketing, co-development or other cooperative arrangements for the purposes described in this paragraph.
Links to other Sites; Information Security.
We implement safeguards to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of information under our control. However, despite our efforts, no data transmission over the Internet or wireless transmission or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please note that we cannot ensure and do not undertake any obligation to ensure the security of any information you transmit to us, and your use of the Services indicates that you are willing to assume this risk.
Preferences and Opt Out.
In the Settings section of our desktop and/or mobile applications, you may edit your interests and other shopping-related preferences (for example, your brand preferences), and link or unlink external accounts including email and social networking accounts. You may choose to deactivate your account with us through your account settings. You also may cancel your account with us through the Website account interface or by emailing us at the following email address or sending mail through the U.S. Postal Service (certified mail, return receipt requested is recommended) to the following street address:
